Hi! I'm David—the owner of David's Signage. Welcome to my site! Other than the years I went to college in Rolla, Missouri, I have lived in the St. Louis area my entire life. I am a semi-retired engineer, mathematician, salesman, teacher, graphic designer, and artist who enjoys time spent with family and friends, music and concerts, the Muny, Cardinals baseball, Blues hockey, animals, nature, float trips, cooking from scratch, and paper/vinyl crafting.

We have all been faced with some unexpected challenges in recent years, forcing us to shift our focus and reprioritize. I believe it is more important than ever that we greet each other with kindness, recognize and appreciate the good that comes from those around us, find ways of connecting with our loved ones, and celebrate the important people and the meaningful events in our lives. I hope that in some small way I am able to help you achieve these things.

When I was teaching at a local college full-time, my friend and roommate needed computer support for some of his interior design and event planning projects, so I started helping him by editing photos and making signs and banners, and I was eventually hired directly by him and some of his clients to design invitations, menus, place cards, etc. for holidays and special events. I named my graphic design business "David's Signage". When my teaching career went from full-time to part-time, I was able to focus even more of my energy on developing my artistic side, and I spent some time designing websites, business cards, company logos, and various pieces of wall art for individuals and businesses. In 2019, to support a wedding rehearsal dinner in Palm Springs, CA, I purchased a Cricut machine and began working on "Stemware Decorations for Dinner Celebrations". Yard Cards by David's Signage was developed in 2020 in response to the growing demand for ways to celebrate life events while maintaining a safe distance from each other. A Yard Card is simply a giant greeting, announcement, invitation, or message displayed on your front lawn for all to see. My mission is to offer you large, easy-to-read text, vibrant colors, and original artwork, customized to fit your landscape and your taste and arranged for you in a fun, eye-catching display at a price you can afford. To your specifications we design your Yard Card, deliver it to you, install it, and retrieve it the following day, leaving your landscape as we found it, without any required face-to-face contact. With little effort and at little cost you can honor an important person or highlight a meaningful event in a very big way, without ever having to leave the safety and comfort of your home!

Our Yard Card displays are made up of individual signs, each displaying a single letter, digit, punctuation mark, or decorative item we call flair. Signs are either digitally printed with UV-cured ink or layered with permanent adhesive vinyl on 4-mm corrugate plastic and secured to the ground with metal stakes. Most of our signs are 18 inches wide and 24 inches tall.
