What is a Yard Card?
A Yard Card, also referred to as a “lawn card” or “lawn greeting”, is a large, stationary greeting card which is temporarily set up outdoors in front of the recipient's home or business. It usually consists of multiple decorative signs and uses large, bold lettering to display a message visible to anyone passing by.
When is it appropriate to display a Yard Card?
What materials are used in your Yard Card displays?
The signs that we use in our Yard Card displays consist of UV-cured ink printed on corrugated plastic. The signs are secured to the ground and supported with metal stakes.
How large of an area do you need to set up a Yard Card display?
Our Yard Card displays can vary greatly in size depending on the length of the greeting, whether or not abbreviations are used, the number of flair pieces, the number of rows we utilize, and to what extent we overlap letters. Ideally, for optimal viewing, we prefer to install on an open, unobscured strip of front lawn at least 20 feet long and 3 feet wide, with the longer dimension running parallel to the street, flat or sloping downward away from the house, at least a few feet away from the street or sidewalk. We will always check the available online imagery of your display site and address any issues with you prior to designing your display. However, if you are aware that space is limited or that there are other challenges we might encounter when installing on your property, please just let us know in advance, and we will do our best to offer you a display that works well with your unique landscape.
How far in advance do I have to place an order?
We schedule installations and reserve our display signs on a first-come/first-serve basis, so to ensure you get the display you want on the day you want it, it is best to order as far in advance as possible. However, as long as the signs you want have not already been reserved by another customer, and we have staff available to perform the installation, it is possible for you to place an order in the morning, receive an image of your display and an invoice within a few hours, submit payment by late afternoon, and have your display installed that same evening! Custom orders for which we have to design, print, and cut new pieces should be placed at least one full week prior to the event.
How will I know if the Yard Card I want is available on the day I want it?
Once you have a general idea of what you want in your display, fill out our online order form and submit it. Upon receiving your order we will go through our inventory and make sure the signs you selected are available on the date(s) you specify. If some of your selections are not available, we will make what we feel are appropriate substitutions. We will then put together an image of your display for you to review and continue working with you as needed until you are happy with the design. You will know exactly what your display will look like prior to paying for it.
Can I order a Yard Card for someone and have it be a surprise?
Yes! We set up Yard Card displays at all hours, day or night, so we can work with you in scheduling your installation at a time when it won’t spoil the surprise. Please allow us a two-hour window during which we can set up the display without interruption or incident. Also please realize that, although we want the person you are honoring to be surprised, we are not fond of surprising his or her neighbors or the local police. When strangers are observed parking in front of someone's house and milling about the front lawn late at night it can cause problems, and we don’t want things to go horribly wrong for anyone involved. So if we are setting up a display at a residence which is not your own, we suggest you either meet us there for the installation or inform someone who lives at that residence when we will be arriving and what we will be doing there so that they can help maintain the surprise while keeping us out of trouble.
Can I keep my Yard Card display for more than just one day?

Can I add balloons, streamers, confetti, or other party decorations to my display?
Sorry, but no. Our prices remain reasonable because we are able to reuse our signs in multiple displays for multiple customers. Although the plastic and ink we use are weather-resistant, anything you attach to the signs by any method, when coupled with the sun and wind, can weaken or damage our signs, reducing their usable life. So between the time we set up your display and the time we take it down, we ask that you enjoy viewing it, taking photographs with it, and showing it off to others, but please do not interact with it in any other way.
What happens if there are severe weather conditions on the day of the event?
Our Yard Card display signs can be installed and will endure most weather conditions, with the exceptions of high winds, hail, and flooding. After confirming your order and receiving payment, we are committed to doing everything within reason to make sure your display goes up as planned. We continually monitor weather forecasts, and, if we anticipate any problem with your installation, you will be notified immediately. Should weather prevent us from traveling to the event location, accessing the display site, penetrating the ground 3 to 6 inches with our metal stakes, or setting up your display signs safely and securely, we will give you the choice of postponing our service until a later date or accepting a full refund. You will not be held liable for any signs which go missing or are damaged due to bad weather. Should you decide to cancel our service for any reason, you must do so at least 24 hours prior to the planned installation time in order to receive a refund.
What if I want to display a specific item, color, or theme that you don’t offer in your selection?
We build our selection based on our customers’ needs and suggestions. If you are interested in display items that we do not currently offer, we’d love to create them for you! Please describe the items you want in the comments section when placing your order, or go to our Contact page and send us a message. We require a minimum of one full week to design, print, and cut any new items. And if we can add the new items to our selection and offer them to other customers, there is no additional charge for the customization of your display!
What payment options do you offer?
Along with the confirmation of your order we will email you a PayPal invoice, which allows you to safely pay online with a credit or debit card, PayPal balance, PayPal installments, Venmo, or Apple Pay. You are NOT required to have a PayPal account in order to pay the invoice. PayPal Credit is subject to consumer credit approval, as determined by the lender. We do not accept in-person or mailed-in payments of any kind, including cash or check. For their own safety, our drivers and installers do not carry cash or accept tips.
How far outside of St. Louis does your service area extend?
We operate near Ballwin, Missouri, in West St. Louis County, and currently serve St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and surrounding counties in Missouri and Illinois. How far we are willing to travel to set up a display depends on our current volume of business, available staff, available vehicles, road conditions, etc. If we are not willing to travel to your location for any reason, we will let you know within 24 hours of receiving your order. If our one-way travel distance is greater than 30 miles, you may see an additional charge on your invoice when we confirm your order.
